School Bullies – Their Motive, Your Response
What are the motives of school bullies? Why do they feel like they need to pick on little kids? Did you ever have the experience where you were on the playground, and a bully at school picked you on relentlessly? What can you do about it? What are their motives, and what can be your response?
The first thing to understand is that bullies are just looking for attention. They are not able to seek out their own attention, so they must find a way to get attention their own way. They do this by picking out a selection of targets (kids) that they feel are weak, people that they feel they can walk over.
School bullies do not typically mean any physical harm; they only enjoy humiliating their targets. If a bully has targeted you, you are going to need to stand up against them. When they come against you next time, you need to stand up and let them know firmly that you are not going to let them walk all over you anymore.
When you do this, typically the bully will leave the person alone. They have no desire for any real confrontation. They only want to gain attention to themselves by humiliating others.
