Interview With Bully Beater Casey Haynes
This is a great interview with bullying victim Casey Haynes who recently fought back against his bullies. His video of the confrontation went viral around the world. It was great to see a bullying victim show they are willing to defend themselves and no longer be silent. I can’t believe the school suspended Casey. Where are all these school administrators when bullying victims are constantly harrassed everday?
I am so proud of Casey for acting in self-defense. My parents used to tell me to ignore the bullies but it never worked. It just brought more racial slurs and physical confrontation. Fighting back and taking stand always stopped the bullying.
I remember when I was 12 years old and playing on a baseball team. There was one kid who would always call me chink and other names. During the game in the dugout he decided to punch me in the face while I was sitting on the bench. Like you I was fed up with the comments, stood up and punched the kid in the head. I stood over him telling him never to call me chink again! The whole team watched in shock as the event unfolded. Members of the team told the bully to not mess with me because he will suffer the same fate again. After that no more bullying from this punk!
Stand tall and stay proud Casey!

I keep hearing experts say that retaliation doesnt work but like you I’ve found it always works – well at least were I correctly judged I could hold my own.
Maybe it is different in areas full of gangs with knives and guns but a wel controled wrestling hold or a swift punch to the nose seemed pretty effective.
Hi ScottieX,
Thank you for your comment. I am not saying to retaliate against every bullying incident. What I am trying to get across that you as an individual have the right to defend yourself within reason if you are physically being assaulted. Hitting someone after you safely protecting yourself will put you in the wrong.
In my situations I wasn’t interested in being someones punching bag everytime I walked to school or played organized sport. All because my of skin color was different does not mean it was right for someone to assault me. I have the same rights as other citizens which is to live and enjoy life free of harrassment.
